Work Experience

News Editor

I am the evening news editor for The Wall Street Journal, Washington Bureau

Executive Producer, Podcasts

I joined CQ Roll Call in the spring of 2015 and soon after I launched what is now called the CQ on Congress podcast, among the first news podcasts. I added three more podcasts to showcase Congressional Quarterly's and Roll Call's expertise. The shows are carried by all podcast apps. I developed, produced and edited all the podcasts while managing a reporting team. I also created the production and post-production processes.

Policy  Editor

I led a team of reporters covering Congress, with a focus on foreign policy, trade and related legislation. The team produced daily stories and magazine features that provided an in depth examination of an issue. I convinced the company to add a trade reporter before the trade tension between China and the U.S. flared.

Foreign Correspondent, CBS Radio

I traveled throughout Europe and the Middle East covering everything from Pope John Paul II, the Greek financial crisis to the Arab Spring.

Magazines

Covered breaking news and features for Time Magazine in Italy and Newsweek in Greece.

Book Editor/Researcher

I've helped research and edit four non-fiction books, written by Brian Murphy.

Staff Writer, News and Sun-Sentinel

I was the main reporter covering tourism, South Florida's largest industry. I also led investigative stories and occasionally wrote about baseball.

Staff Writer, The Sun

Covered breaking news and worked on investigative stories.

About Me

Storytelling in all its forms

It was in middle school that I first learned of Watergate and the Washington Post journalists behind an investigation that brought down a president. I found how the two reporters pursued the story just as fascinating.  There and then I said: I want to do that. I have travelled all over the world to tell stories of ordinary people, of kings, popes and prime ministers. But whether it was a fire that destroyed a Vietnamese immigrant family's new home in Lowell, Massachusetts or a phalanx of women protesting a Middle East dictatorship, I marveled at the opportunity and responsibility of witnessing events that would shape history whether that was on a global or a local scale. I've reported for newspapers, Time, Newsweek, and CBS Radio. With each new assignment or job, I learned skills, gained expertise and perspectives that have helped me develop into a versatile journalist who feels comfortable editing text, producing podcasts, leading a news team or researching a book.
